Welcome!

MY HISTORY

Okay, so this is my first blog on my new blog site. Let me introduce myself. I'm Alethea Hughes but I go by Allie. I'm 22 years old (born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 5, 1987) and I currently live in Greenfield, Ohio. I'm moving to Columbus, Ohio in September to start school. In September I'll be attending Bradford School for Travel/Hospitality. The whole purpose of this blog is to log my journey to a new me.

A year after I graduated high school (May 2007) I moved out of my parent's house in New Vienna, Ohio and into my own apartment in Hillsboro, Ohio. I worked at Frisch's Big Boy Restaurant as a Server/Drive-Thru Attendant. Not the most glamorous job, but it was a job. While working there, I met a guy. He was basically a rebound from my ex. I was stupid and didn't really know anything about him and asked him to move in to my new apartment with me so I could save money on rent. I know I broke my mom's heart by doing that (She's really old fashioned).

To try to make a long story short, we didn't have enough money for anything really. He maxed out my credit cards and stole money from me and my parents. My car got repossessed because of him. We moved around from place to place, breaking leases and leaving bills unpaid. Throughout thins time I ballooned from 150 lbs to 235 lbs due to not being able to afford good food and being lazy. Then I finally woke up.

I had been thinking of breaking it off with him and moving back home and trying to start over but I kept waiting for some stupid reason. Then, one night, I came home from work and saw him and a few of his friends snorting something off MY dining room table in MY apartment! The second I walked in they immediately jumped up and tried to hide it. I kicked them all out, including him. The next day I called my mom and told her what happened and she (for some reason I will never know) looked him up online. She found out that he has a domestic violence charge against him and well as, are you ready for this? 7 FELONIES!! All for theft! Long story short that was the kick in the ass that I needed.

Okay, so jump start to August 2009. I decide to move out again. This time with a male roommate from work (I was a Security Officer at DHL). Big mistake. I eventually moved back home after my parents bought a house in Greenfield, Ohio and this is where I am today.

WEIGHT

So as I mentioned before, I gained a lot of weight while I moved all around Southern Ohio. My dad has always been hard on me about my weight. He's a big guy himself so I was always furious when he made a comment about my weight. My mom said he was like that because he didn't want me to end up like him. I understood that, but it still hurt. When I was in junior high and early high school I maintained a weight of about 150 pounds. Keep in mind that I was 5'8" since I was 11 years old and muscular. I played basketball, softball and ran track. I gained about 25 pounds in 2003 when I was a Sophomore. I went on a diet and dropped the weight and got down to about 145. It didn't last long and I was back up to 165 by graduation. Then back down to 150 by the time I moved out. I went up to 235 like I said earlier in about a year. I'm 223.2 right now and I have nothing holding me back. I'm going to do this and lose this weight. It's embarrassing to have people see me like this. Especially, seeing people I went to school with. I can only imagine what they are thinking. The same thing I think when I see someone I went to school with that gained weight I'm sure. I done with it. If you get time check out my Buddyslim page and see my progress.

SCHOOL

Something I didn't mention is that I started college twice in two years. I went to Southern State Community College in September 2006 for a quarter and January 2008 for a quarter and quit. I don't know why I quit going. I've never been a quitter ever in my life. I really think I let others influence me too easily and I just seam to not care about my own life anymore. I ended up owing the college $900+ and the government $561.00. Now I'm finally getting this all taken care of. I've been accepted into the Travel/Hospitality program at Bradford School. It's more of a career school than a regular college and I will finish in 14 months with an Associates degree in Applied Business (A.A.B.). I plan on working on getting start on my career and then going for my Bachelor's Degree online part-time while working. I'm excited.

IN CONCLUSION

Thank you for those of you that took the time to read my blog. I really appreciate, but even if I never have anyone read this, it's okay. I'm just trying to get my feelings and thoughts out there.
